My Career so far: Before coming to work at Boots I was a full time mum. I decided to take on the role in the dispensary as I saw it as a new challenge - it was something I’d not done before and I can honestly say I’ve never looked back. I’ve done lots of training since I’ve been here and I moved from a central dispensary role to a local pharmacy about 18 months ago. I’m now studying for my NVQ level 3 dispensing qualification.

My typical day: My typical day is a busy one, the main challenge being to ensure we meet the timescales for dispensing all the items to the care homes we look after. I’ll deal with new requests over the phone, check on deliveries and work with the team to dispense items. The atmosphere in the dispensary is great and we all work together to make sure everything gets done, quickly and as efficiently as possible.

The best thing about Boots: The best thing about Boots is the reward you get from feeling that you and everyone else in the business is working to help people. Everyone enjoys what they do and that makes you want to work here. Personally even though I’ve been here for nearly five years, I plan to stay within the company and make my next career move a sideways one, perhaps into something completely different – the size of the business means there are lots of opportunities around.
