Qualifications when I started Boots: A-levels plus a degree in Optometry

My Career so far: I applied to Boots after finishing my degree because I'd heard that they had a good prereg scheme. I did my prereg year in the Harrogate store then moved around within the company quite a lot, working in York and Pontefract before settling in Leeds. I've been here for 12 years now.

My typical day: It's a nine-to-five job with a different patient to see every 25 minutes. There's a lot of variation - you get to talk to different people all day.

The best thing about Boots: It's a big company so there's plenty of back-up if you have a problem. I also like the variety, in terms of customers and colleagues.
