Let's get to know each other
Diversity
Women at work
It probably won’t surprise you to hear that women make up a large proportion of our workforce, and our customers too. So it follows that we make sure we’re a great place to work for women. In fact, we’ve a long tradition of it, becoming one of the first companies to employ welfare workers in 1911, responsible specifically for the welfare of our female workers. More recently, we’ve embraced flexible working practices such as job sharing, term time working and career breaks, which are an essential for most working mums (and dads).
Cultural diversity
We believe there’s little point in putting our pharmacies at the heart of local communities if our own workforce doesn’t reflect the whole of the UK’s population. And to fully understand all of our customers, it helps if our own Boots community is equally diverse. This is why our diversity policy relates to gender, race, religion, belief, age, disability, sexual orientation, family status, and nationality. If they share our values, then everyone’s welcome.
